Shots
As a therapy Chef has to administer daily shots to himself. By the way Chef HATES needles. After the insurance issues we did finally get the shots just over a week ago. Chef had ask all day what time I would be home from work and I continually said just after 5:00 well I work with people and sometimes what I think will happen won't. I didn't get home that night till after 6:00. He had been home since 4:00 and was preparing himself for the shot. I didn't help the process by being late. Anyway I get home we talked about the shots we look them over we review what needs to happen. He says he thinks he can do it. It goes to the other room and comes back at least 10min later. I ask how it went he said he couldn't do it. We talk some more and he disappears again. Again he comes back this time 20min later, he still cant do it. He then states that he doesn't think he can do it and would like me to do it for him. If you don't know Chef his is 6'4" and not someone that you would think would be scared of something such as a needle. He lays down and I promptly shoot him in the hip. He said the pressure I applied hurt worse then the needle itself. This apparently helped him get passed the fear of doing it himself. He has done it everyday since with no problem at all. He actually said that he thinks he is becoming addicted to them. He is so convinced that they will help him that he looks forward to them and wants to give himself even more then one when he isn't feeling well. The company says though that you typically wont notice an effect of the med till about six months.
