My bro and sis-in-law anounced that they are going to be having a BOY!!!
Boys seem to run in our family (on my dad's side). I have a cousin with 4 boys, another with one, and another with one on the way and then there is one little girl to another cousin. My dad is one of three boys.
After my paternal grandparents passed way we found the box of letters that my grandfather wrote to my grandmother during WWII. My grandmother was pregnant with my dad while my grandfather was deployed. Within the letters he talked about how badly he desired a girl for there had been three generations of his family without girls. The disappointment in the letter when he found out his first born was a boy was evident. I teased my dad for some time about the fact that grandpa wanted him to be a girl.
My grandparents were both really into geneology. As I write this I feel that I need to look back in our family history to see if there is a pattern that exist due to the current pomonence of boys. In my generation in the family there are more girls then boys so there may not be anything to this line of thinking but still it makes me wonder!

I'm a lover of history through letters. I have books and books of letters written between lovers, especially from WWII! What a wonderful treasure trove you have there.
And boys rock! I have a son and let me tell you- he's cool! ;)
Mac is the coolest!!!! It's so great to hear about him growing up and the things that he is acheiving as a young MAN!
